FOR BUSINESSES

On the Road to Better Business Online Journal

Oct. 9, 2008, Jacksonville
Thursday in Jacksonville marked another successful, “On the Road to Better Business.” I met with City Manager Mr. Allan Mosley, Senator Stephen Wise and several licensees who shared their concerns about our agency. Once again, the biggest concern was unlicensed construction activity.
We are making every effort to enhance enforcement efforts in unlicensed activity. We appreciate all that you do by reporting unlicensed activity, which is an important part of the process. I challenge you to help us aggressively pursue unlicensed activity. For those of you who suspect unlicensed activity, please call toll-free 1-866-532-1440 or visit MyFloridaLicense.com to complete a complaint.
As we travel around the state, I am pleased to see that we continue to receive a great response from so many of our licensees. I would like to share some of their comments with you:
- This type of meeting allows all of us to better understand the working environment and problems of these environments. Each party has to operate under. Understanding is sometimes a solution in itself.
- I would like to say again that we also appreciate the work that the Jacksonville office is doing to help with unlicensed activity in this area.
- Please continue the interaction with the consumers and businesses to protect the everyday Floridian.
Receiving this great feedback assures me that we are doing the right thing by taking the time to meet with you. Sometimes it is easy to get wrapped up in the day-to-day tasks associated with running an agency. It is through meetings with our customers that I am reminded of the great responsibility we have to the business community as well as the public.
I look forward to meeting licensees at our “On the Road to Better Business” in Ft. Lauderdale coming soon.
