Information Regarding New Rules

The Board of Accountancy is working to implement House Bill 797, which revised the education requirements to sit for the CPA examination and also required one year of work experience for CPA licensure in the state of Florida. At their September 15, 2008 meeting, the Board voted to notice language change to rule 61H1-27.002 which relates to education requirements for sitting for the CPA exam and obtaining licensure, and approved language for rule 61H1-27.0041 regarding the one year work experience requirement.

RULE UPDATES:

The newly amended education rule, Rule 61H1-27.002 has an effective date of November 23, 2008.

The Board continues to work on Rule 61H1-27.0041 which relates to the work experience requirements for licensure and expects to vote on final language to implement work experience at their November 17, 2008 meeting.
