DBPR Launches eNewsroom
Online Resource for Department News and Information
June 18, 2008
Tallahassee— Today, the Department of Business and Professional Regulation launched a new online resource, eNewsroom. This new, interactive, Web page is easily accessible and features Department news and information. Visitors can watch important Department public service announcements, read news releases, and subscribe to Department publications.
“We constantly strive to create new ways of interacting and communicating with both our licensees and the public,” said Interim Secretary Chuck Drago. “eNewroom is not only a great resource for everyone to quickly and easily access Department information, but also it is a tool to educate consumers on the dangers of using unlicensed individuals.”
eNewsroom features two video public service announcements, which warn consumers about hiring unlicensed Community Association Managers and contractors. The construction PSA features the well-known home improvement expert, Bob Vila, explaining the importance of hiring only licensed builders. The PSA’s are currently airing throughout the state as part of the Department’s Unlicensed Activity Campaign. Also, visitors can subscribe to the Department’s quarterly newsletter, Business Works, the weekly e-mail newsletter, The Bottom Line, and various professions’ newsletters.
eNewsroom can be accessed by going to www.MyFloridaLicense.com and clicking on the eNewsroom link.
The Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly. The Department licenses more than one million businesses and professionals ranging from real estate agents, veterinarians, and accountants to contractors and cosmetologists.
