DBPR Unveils New Interactive Service
March 14, 2008
Tallahassee - The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (Department) continues to remain on the cusp of technological innovation by introducing e-Connect, an online tool allowing the public to offer feedback to the Department on the proposed rules from the comfort of their home computers. This service is one of the many ways the Department is encouraging users to “log-in” to government by creating new, user-friendly online services that facilitate communication with the Department.
Beginning Saturday, March 15, at 8 a.m., the Department will be kicking off the first e-Connect, which will allow users to submit comments electronically about a proposed rule change affecting the landscape architecture industry. The rulemaking process will close on March 28 at 8 a.m.
“This unique online rule process will allow for greater input from the industry,” said Interim Secretary Chuck Drago. “We remain committed to utilizing more streamlined, technological processes that will help our customers better interact with the Department and help us better serve our customers.”
In addition to the new e-Connect, the Department offers many online services designed to improve customer service and consumer access to vital information. Users can log-on to the Department’s home page at www.MyFloridaLicense.com to verify licenses, view complaints against licensees, subscribe to Department newsletters, renew existing licenses, review policies and procedures, and obtain continuing education information.
For more information on this e-Connect or the proposed rule change, log-on to the Department’s Web site at www.MyFloridaLicense.com.
The Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s mission is to license efficiently and regulate fairly. The Department licenses nearly one million businesses and professionals ranging from real estate agents, veterinarians, and accountants to contractors and cosmetologists.
