Purpose and Functions
The Bureau of Farm Labor ensures through a system of compliance and enforcement, which include routine checks, inspections and investigations, that Florida farm workers are protected from harmful work situations and exploitation. Authority for this enforcement is Chapter 450 Part III, Florida Statutes,
The mission of the Bureau in conjunction with the Department’s mission is “to License efficiently and regulate fairly”. In pursuit of our mission, through a program of Education, Enforcement and Administrative initiatives, the Bureau of Farm Labor will promote and ensure compliance with Farm Labor Laws, Rules, and Standards, thereby enhancing and promoting the welfare of Florida’s agriculture and farm workers.
To this end, the Bureau has strategically placed sixteen (16) investigators in agriculturally significant areas of the State to efficiently regulate and ensure compliance with all applicable State and Federal Laws. Investigators are assigned to the following areas:
Homestead FT. Pierce Belleglade/Clewiston Immokalee/Labelle
Ft. Myers Sebring Wauchula Tampa
Orlando Gainesville Quincy
