Periodically, it becomes necessary to revisit the content covered by licensure examinations to reflect changes in the industry. In cooperation with the Department of Business & Professional Regulation, the Bureau of Education and Testing, the Construction Industry Licensing Board, and the examination development vendor, the job analysis for the Business and Financial Management Examination was reviewed and updated. As a result of this process, the content for the examination has been changed to more accurately reflect the work that contractors perform. FAC 16.004G has been updated to reflect the new content effective April 2008.
The updated Business and Financial Management examination will be used starting in April 2008. The new examination contains some additional content areas. The applicable references have been added to the reference list to support this new content (Chapter 455 F.S., OSHA Parts 1903, 1904, and 1910). The new examination will contain 120 scored items plus 10 pilot items (60+5 in the AM session and 60+5 in the PM session). Currently, the administration time for the examination has not been changed.
